Pricing and discounts

Pricing conversion from USD

Since we import items from the USA, where USD $ currency is used, and we are based in Europe (Italy) where instead the currency is EUR €, we convert the original price (SRP: Suggested Retail Price) in dollars to euro 1:1 (so for instance 100$ becomes 100€). This is a convention utilized by many retailers for simplicity since prices don't need to be constantly adjusted based on the exchange rates and it also helps to "absorb" the cost sustained for the import.

Discounts

Starting from the base price (covered in the paragraph above), we apply automatic discounts (they are applied programmatically by our system given a set of configured rules) based on product type and "status" (in-stock, back-order, "standard" pre-order, "early bird" pre-order). For instance in-stock items ready to ship might have a discount (applied to the base cover price) of 15-20% while pre-orders have discounts in the range 20-30%. Such discounts are applied to all the products published on nerdbeast.eu and might be adjusted from time to time or on specific products either manually or programatically.

Promotions

During some limited periods during the year we might offer special discount codes which might apply extra discounts at checkout on already discounted prices or offer extra items for free and so on. Such codes will be published on the home page or sent by email to our subscribers and all the rules and effects of the promo codes will be explained to the customer for every event.
